Food for Spirit

Some days ago the Media Centre of Expo hosted a special event, “Food for Spirit”: eleven religious representatives had debated the spiritual importance of food, as nourishment not only for our body but for our soul too.
A big table had been decked with tipical dishes from eighty country of the world that had been blessed by the religious representatives and then offered to guests and audience.
It had been a touching moment, a deep emotion had captivated everyone.
With the precious help of Sauro and Caterina, I had the honour to cooperate by offering a dish made especially for this important event, basmati rice with vegetables and bell peppers sauce.
An emblematic dish, appropriate for all the religions, a symbolic connection among different countries in the world, from which came all the ingredients we used.
During the event, the religious representatives signed “Carta di Milano”, a document which will be submitted to the United Nations and which ratifies the right of food as fundamental human right, paying serious attention to sustainability, equal, functional and efficient natural resources management, biodiversity safeguard.
To my personal point of view, that day we achieved the top in quality for the message given.
The event will remain as memory and symbol for the next generation.
